The Jan. 6, 2026 episode of Raw was already set to feature CM Punk defending the WWE World Heavyweight title against Bron Beakker. On the Dec. 15, 2025 episode, another championship tilt was booked for
the red brand’s first offering of the New Year.
Hyping that show on last night’s Raw, commentary announced that Rhea Ripley & IYO SKY will challenge Women’s Tag champs Kabuki Warriors for their belts on Jan. 6.
That of course led to Asuka and Kairi Sane attacking RhIYO later on Monday’s show:
Depending on what happens in the next two weeks, the match could be Sane & Asuka’s first defense of the belts they won from Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss last month. It could be SKY & Ripley’s first tag win since Crown Jewel. It also, of course, continues the story of Damage CTRL’s break-up, which saw Asuka & Kairi turn on IYO, which launched her popular team-up with Rhea.
