On Monday, after the Kansas City Chiefs failed to reach the red zone in a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks, rumors swirled further about the Chiefs’ interest in trading for a wide receiver.
Ever since the injury to wide receiver Tyquan Thornton (dislocated ankle), it has felt like the insiders have been talking a lot about Kansas City regarding the trade deadline, which is two weeks from today.

New NFL Trade Rumors as Chiefs, Steelers Target Key Position Before Deadline | Bleacher Report
“You look at the Kansas City Chiefs, they are calling around at least to see what they can potentially add,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Monday. “Now they should get Rashee Rice back, he’s been out with that hamstring for the last three weeks. … They could look to add a piece in the next few weeks just because all the injuries they’ve had at that position.”
Suddenly, the Kansas City Chiefs are facing a lot of questions | Andscape
A key contributor to the franchise’s three Super Bowl victories in the decade, Butker has been among the most clutch postseason kickers of the Super Bowl era. But since the beginning of last season, he has been, well, way off.
In fact, according to research by The Associated Press, his 15 missed kicks (10 attempted field goals and five PATs) during that span are the most in the NFL.
“Warmup wasn’t great,” Butker said Sunday. “It’s just something that you have to roll with and try to fix it in the game and do the best that you can.
Patrick Mahomes needed help in Seattle. That help was sitting at home | The Kansas City Star
Two days after head coach Andy Reid requested that we focus purely “on the guys playing,” the Chiefs proved the relevance of those who are not: left tackle Josh Simmons and wide receiver Rashee Rice.
That shouldn’t be construed as an excuse, because as difficult as it is to win without your left tackle and No. 1 receiver, the Chiefs pitted themselves into that corner. A barometer game against the defending Super Bowl champions required they play at their best, and yet their best is reliant on two players who have proven themselves unreliable.
So what are the odds we will see this team at its best?
Seahawks ‘put on a clinic’ shutting down Kenneth Walker III, Patrick Mahomes in blowout win over Chiefs | NFL.com
Macdonald’s D so thoroughly whipped the Chiefs, Mahomes looked dazed and confused by the end of the game. K.C. generated just 213 yards, went 3 of 11 on third downs and netted 11 first downs while averaging 4.3 yards per play. For the first time in a Mahomes start, the Chiefs didn’t even sniff the red zone. The QB completed 19 of 33 passes for 165 yards and an interception.
The domination frustrated Walker, who didn’t shake hands with his former teammates after the contest.
“S—, we lost,” Walker said, via ESPN. “I was frustrated. That’s about it. I [saw] them over there celebrating and s—. That’s about it.”
NFL legend Calvin Johnson wants Chiefs to trade for this superstar WR | Chiefs Wire
During an October 26 appearance on ‘Up and Adams,’ NFL legend Calvin Johnson revealed that he wants the Kansas City Chiefs to trade for New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
A former first-round pick and 2022 NFL Rookie of the Year, Wilson is widely considered to be one of the most dynamic pass-catchers in the league and will be a hot commodity if New York decides to make him available before the November 10 trade deadline.

Eagles vs. Cowboys score: Dallas routs depleted Philadelphia in NFC East showdown | CBS Sports
Dallas’ offense was unstoppable most of the night. Dallas scored on four of its five possessions in the first half and took a 20-14 lead at halftime. Philadelphia briefly took the lead in the second half before the Cowboys’ offense mounted three unanswered scoring drives. Dallas put the game away when Javonte Williams found paydirt from two yards out with 2:21 left.
Conversely, it was a tremendous night for Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who threw two touchdown passes to CeeDee Lamb and another to George Pickens. Prescott was complemented by Williams, who rumbled for a career-high 155 yards on 25 carries.
Jay-Z selects himself to perform Super Bowl 61 halftime show | The Athletic
SoFi Stadium last hosted Super Bowl 56, which was played on Feb. 13, 2022. That halftime show featured an ensemble of performances by Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg.
Jay-Z, whose given name is Shawn Carter, released his first album, “Reasonable Doubt,” 30 years ago. It has been 25 years since the release of his acclaimed album “The Blueprint.”
Aaron Glenn says Garrett Wilson’s outburst ‘overblown,’ defends Jets’ offense | ESPN
On the CBS telecast, Wilson was seen barking at someone on the bench during the fourth quarter. The announcers said it was quarterback Geno Smith, but it was actually passing game coordinator Seth Ryan, who relays communication from offensive coordinator Frank Reich in the booth.
On Monday, Glenn was asked how he feels about a player yelling at a coach. He turned the conversation back to Wilson and Smith.
“Well, I think sometimes that’s overblown as far as what people think is happening,” Glenn said. “Sometimes those conversations could be totally something else. And, listen, I know for a fact that Geno and Garrett, it was more or less, ‘Man, let’s get going and let’s get the offense going’ more than guys bickering at each other.

Chiefs’ offense had a historically poor showing in loss to Seahawks
“We have to help [Walker],” Mahomes said. “When they put so many eggs in that basket of stopping the run game, we have to have the play-action game and the movement game to be able to throw the ball. And if we’re not proving that, they’re going to continue to put those guys at the line of scrimmage, and that is hard for the run game.”
