The 2026 Syracuse Field Hockey season starts Friday when the Orange take on Fairfield. Can the Orange
Syracuse will begin the season ranked 9th in the NFHCA preseason poll. The Orange were picked 5th in the ACC Preseason Coaches Poll behind North Carolina, Virginia, Duke and Wake Forest.
Sophomore forward Aubrey Turner was selected to the Preseason All-ACC Team. In her first season, Turner scored seven goals, but tallied three in the post-season showing a knack for coming up in clutch situations. With
the departure of top scorer Bo van Kempen, it will be up to Turner and others to drive the Orange offense.
While the Orange will feel the loss of van Kempen on penalty corners, they do have the benefit or returning goalies Jesse Eiselen and Tane King. Eiselen started 19 of 20 games last year but King made 17 appearances as the Orange rotated their goalies. Will one of them seize the job this season, or will we continue to see this time share in net?
Bo and Hattie Madden each started all 20 games in 2025 and HC Lynn Farquhar will look to them to provide leadership for this year’s squad. This season Syracuse will face six NCAA qualifiers as they look to make the NCAA Tournament for the 16th time in the last 19 seasons.
