This may be an inopportune week to ask this question, but the circumstances of the game against the Ravens forces us to do so. How would you grade Brian Schottenheimer’s time as head coach?
We’re talking about his entire time here. Not just what happened in the Ravens game.
For a while, it felt like Schotty had won the backing of the fans, or at least to give him a legitimate chance after a rough first year. He’s received praise for pushing to get new coaches, including Christian Parker. He was trying
to establish his culture, his kind of team.
Last year was somewhat of a write-off as he was saddled with a terrible defense, which ruined everything Schotty’s offense was accomplishing. Seemed pretty good for the head coach.
Then the games started this season and the coaching has been an issue. A big one.
He didn’t appear to have his team ready for Week 1 against the New York Giants where they got bludgeoned by a more physical unit. Week 2 against the Washington Commanders felt like it was going to be a struggle until Jayden Daniels went down.
We don’t have to go over what just happened in the Baltimore Ravens game, when the coach had his lowest moments.
