Following their statement win at home against the Florida State Seminoles last Friday, the No. 24 Virginia (4-1, 2-0 ACC) Cavaliers are 6.5 point underdogs in Saturday’s matchup against the Louisville
Cardinals (4-0, 1-0 ACC) according to FanDuel SportsBook.
Virginia is +205 to beat Louisville with the over/under set at 60.5 points, suggesting this will be a high scoring affair. Given that the ‘Hoos are averaging 45.6 points per game, that’s a reasonable presumption.
Undefeated on the season, Louisville has beaten Eastern Kentucky (51-17), James Madison (28-14), Bowling Green (40-17), and Pittsburgh (34-27) in its first four contests of 2025.
This game has important implications in the ACC. While Miami remains the far-and-away favorite to win the conference, the Cardinals are tied with FSU for the second best odds to win the conference. Beating Louisville on the road would not only be a another meaningful momentum boost for the ‘Hoos, but it would drop the Cardinals down the ACC standings and give Virginia the tiebreaker against another talented ACC foe.
Louisville and head coach Jeff Brohm have had the Cavaliers’ number recently, winning the last three matchups between the two teams. Yet Virginia is ranked for the first time since 2019 and, with quarterback Chandler Morris and a dominant running game featuring J’Mari Taylor and Xavier Brown in the backfield, the ‘Hoos will look to get back in the win column against the Cards on Saturday afternoon.
