Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Tavius Robinson will miss the rest of the 2026 season with a pectoral injury, head coach Jesse Minter announced on Friday.
It is unclear exactly when Robinson suffered the injury. The 27-year-old was on the field throughout last week’s game in Cleveland, including the final play. He played fewer snaps than usual, though that can also be explained by Trey Hendrickson’s return from a two-game absence and Mike Green’s increased snaps on the left side of the defense,
where Robinson usually lines up.
This is the second straight season in which Robinson will miss significant time. He spent two months on injured reserve last year after breaking his foot in Week 6. He returned with 2.5 sacks in his final four games and was expected to take another step forward in a contract year under a new defensive staff.
Robinson got off to an excellent start this season with one sack and one tackle for loss in each of his first two games. Through six weeks, the 2023 fourth-round pick leads the defense with 3.5 sacks to go along with 18 tackles (three for loss), two passes defended, and a forced fumble that sent the Ravens’ eventual Week 5 win in Atlanta into overtime. The hit also knocked out Falcons quarterback Michael Penix, bringing Tua Tagovailoa onto the field to set up Kyle Hamilton’s game-sealing interception.
Robinson’s underlying pass rush metrics indicate a lower direct impact, but his power, length, and motor have helped him set a hard edge and clean up plays in the backfield. The 6-foot-6 Canadian was in line for a major payday next offseason; the extent of his pectoral injury will determine his recovery time and adjust his market value accordingly.
The Ravens will rely on their young outside linebacker depth to weather Robinson’s absence. Green will spend even more time on the left side, where he has been less effective as a pass rusher. He has improved as a run defender, which will be crucial with Robinson sidelined.
Baltimore also has a pair of rookies who offer size and physicality that can fill Robinson’s role more directly. 6-foot-5 second-round pick Zion Young has excelled in run defense thus far but has struggled to win as a pass rusher. 6-foot-6 UDFA Ethan Burke played well enough during Hendrickson’s two-game absence to remain in the game day picture after his return. Both will be in line for significant increases in playing time.
The Ravens also have Adisa Isaac and Kaimon Rucker on the practice squad. One will likely be elevated for Sunday’s game as injury insurance and special teams depth.
