Already screwed out of the WWE title in Toronto a couple months back, Kevin Owens now finds himself conspired against once again. This time, it’s not an unconscious referee or Sami Zayn screwing KO… it’s NXT head honcho Shawn Michaels, presumably doing the biding of CM Punk.
Owens posted part of his conversation with HBK and the WWE Performance Center’s head of physical therapy Tara Halaby from earlier today (Nov. 4). KO was just there to get his shoulders worked on. But Michaels believes he specifically
chose Wednesday, all-but-accusing Marieville, Quebec’s favorite son of wanting to hinder Punk’s shot at NXT champion Grayson Waller on tonight’s big show from the PC.
Shawn claims to be worried about Owens and Punk “co-existing”, as if any pro wrestlers have ever had a problem doing that before. Pshaw.
Anyway, here’s the footage. This would never happen in Canada…
Kayfabe and my love for KO aside, this fits neatly into the build for Punk and Owens’ No Holds Barred match on SmackDown this Friday (which was taped Monday night — SPOILERS here). It tells us Kev’s in Orlando, Florida today, and gives his character more reason to crash the main event because now doing so screws over HBK and Punk.
Attention to detail like this is a big part of why I do love Owens (and his wrestling soulmate, Sami Zayn). Michaels and Punk are pretty good wrestling storytellers too, I guess… Anyway, I love this piece of social media business. What do you think of it?
