Three transfer portal players have committed to UNC today with the latest being Florida Atlantic big man Maxim Logue. Logue competed internationally in his home country of France before spending the last two season at FAU. The 6’9” post player came off the bench for the Owls last season where he averaged just under five points per game. He did, however, shoot 67% from the field.
UNC is still waiting to hear what Henri Veesaar intends to do next season between exploring his NBA opportunities and returning
to Chapel Hill. Things are going to get a little tense if Veesaar does decide to let the entire draft process play out, which would not conclude until the end of May. Whether Veesaar returns or not, Logue gives Carolina some needed security in the frontcourt.
Logue received high praise from his FAU coach. John Jakus noted that there were some growing pains for Logue with an injury that kept him out part of last season and a language barrier that made communication challenging. Still, he noted that there was a lot of potential there that could be tapped into. Michael Malone has to be hoping that he is the one who can do it.
