Lavar Keys, a 3-star wide receiver in the class of 2026 out of DeMatha Catholic High School in Landover, Maryland, announced his commitment to Indiana on Sunday:
Keys was originally committed to Penn State but decommitted and reopened his recruitment after the Nittany Lions parted ways with longtime head coach James Franklin after a disappointing start to the 2025 season. He chose Indiana over Maryland and Kansas State and was on an official visit during the Hoosiers’ 56-10 win over the Terrapins in College Park earlier this month.
As a receiver, Keys brings plenty of speed to the passing game. He can give the Hoosiers an option over the middle to take the top off of a defense or pick up yards after the catch on a screen or short pass. Indiana’s found success with possession receivers like Elijah Sarratt and Omar Cooper, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do with a guy like Keys.
