To celebrate the quarter-century mark, we picked the UCF Knights All-Century Basketball Roster, covering the best players since 2000. We have put together a 15-player roster as voted on by a group of people
that have covered UCF Men’s Basketball this century:
First Team
Jermaine Taylor — 2005-2009
- UCF’s all-time leading scorer in the Division I era with 1,979 points
- Trails only Bo Clark in the all-time total career scoring category
- 2009 Conference USA Player of the Year
- 2009 AP All-America Honorable Mention
- All-CUSA First Team, NABC All-District First Team, and the USBWA All-District Team
- Averaged 26.2 points (third-best in the nation, sixth-best in program history) in 2009
- Set a Conference USA single-season record with 466 total points and a 29.1 ppg average against conference opponents
- Selected with the 32nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards and shortly after was traded to the Houston Rockets.
- Inducted into the UCF Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021
B.J. Taylor — 2014-2019
- Seventh all-time at UCF with 1,618 career points, the fourth-most in UCF’s D-I history
- Tied for the school record in career free throws with Bo Clark (456)
- Ranks tied for sixth all-time in three-pointers made (180)
- Sixth in career assists (324)
- First Knight in the D-I era to average 15+ points in three straight seasons
- Made Second-Team All-AAC in 2017 and first-team All-AAC in 2019
- One of only five UCF players all-time to be NABC All-District (Keith Clanton, Isaiah Sykes, Keith Clanton, Jermaine Taylor)
- Led UCF to its first-ever NCAA Tournament win in 2019 over VCU
Keith Clanton — 2009-2013
- UCF’s all-time leader in rebounds (1,000) and games played (129).
- Second in program history in career blocks (227)
- Fifth in free throws (399), sixth in points (1,718) and sixth in field goals (622).
- Led UCF to two postseason appearances in the 2011 CBI and the 2012 NIT
- Was only the second of three players in CUSA history to record 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
Tacko Fall — 2015-2019
- All-time leader at UCF in career blocks with 280 and in career field goal percentage at 74.0%, which is also second in NCAA Division I history
- Ranks third all-time in career rebounds with 887
- Finished with 1,160 points, ranking 18th on UCF’s all-time list.
- Won AAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, leading the Knights to the Final Four of the NIT
- Fall also had a memorable run in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, dominating VCU in the Knights’ first NCAA Tournament win in program history, and had a legendary clash with Duke’s Zion Williamson.
Dexter Lyons — 2002-2004
- Helped UCF to two consecutive ASUN Championship Game appearances, including the conference title and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2004
- Recorded the first triple-double in program history with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists on Jan. 11, 2003 game against Troy
- Averaged 18.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game as a senior, all while shooting 54% from the field and 44% from three-point range, the 10th-best in program history.
- His 567 points in 2003-04 rank as the 4th-highest scoring season in the program’s Division I era.
- First-Team All-ASUN selection, ASUN Defensive Player of the Year, and the ASUN Tournament MVP.
- Inducted Into UCF Athletic Hall of Fame in 2025
Second Team
Taylor Hendricks — 2022-2023
- Scored ninth-most points in a single season in UCF’s Division I era (515)
- Tied for the seventh-most blocks in a season (59)
- Led UCF to NIT
- Baha Mar Tournament MVP in 2022
- Selected with the ninth overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Utah Jazz, becoming the first Knight to ever be selected in the first round of the NBA Draft
- Led the Knights in multiple categories in his only season, including scoring (15.1 points per game), rebounds (7.0 rebounds per game), shooting (47.8% from the field), and blocks (1.7 per game).
- Hit 39.4% from the 3-point line (second on the team)
Isaiah Sykes — 2010-2014
- Only Knight to rank in the program’s all-time top ten in points (1,545, 8th), rebounds (764, 5th), assists (336, 5th) and steals (183, 3rd).
- Two-time All-Conference selection (CUSA First Team in 2013 and AAC Second Team in 2014)
- All-district selection in 2013
- CUSA All-Defensive Team in 2013
- AAC All-Tournament Team in 2014
- Helped the Knights to NIT in 2012
- Ranks 2nd in program history with 126 games played
- He also ranks 7th in program history in career field goals (588) and career free throws (335).
- Only UCF player with multiple triple-doubles
Darius Johnson — 2021-2025
- Finished his career as UCF’s eighth all-time leading scorer with 1,586 points, the fifth most in the program’s Division I era
- Named All-Big 12 Honorable Mention twice (2024, 2025)
- Second on UCF’s career steals list with 241 (most in the program’s Division I history)
- Third on UCF’s career assists list with 478
- One of just three Knights in program history to reach the 400-assist mark
- Played the third most games as a Knight in the program’s history with 125 games, starting in 104 of them
- Fifth Knight to make 200 or more three-pointers in a UCF career, finishing with 218 to finish fourth on UCF’s career threes list
- Fifth in career free throw percentage at UCF at 81.4%
- Became the 21st Knight to reach the 1,000-point mark in program history
Matt Williams — 2012-2017
- Scored 1,105 career points in four seasons at UCF
- Set program records for three-pointers in a career (274), a season (126), and a game (11).
- Averaged 15.1 points per game as a senior, leading UCF to the NIT Semifinals at Madison Square Garden.
- Played 1,315 minutes as a senior, which was a single-season record.
Roberto Morentin — 2002-2004
- Part of UCF’s A-SUN Championship and NCAA Tournament team in 2004
- Averaged 13.5 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game as a senior
- Led UCF with 16 points and nine rebounds against Pittsburgh in the first round of the NCAA tournament
Third Team
Mike O’Donnell — 2005-2008
- Hit 195 career three-pointers, 6th-most in program history
- Shot 43% from the 3-point line in 2006-07, leading the Knights to 22 wins and a second-place finish in Conference USA
- 8th in school history with 394 career assists
- 10th all-time with 140 steals
Gary Johnson — 2003-2005
- Led UCF to back-to-back A-Sun Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances in his only two seasons at UCF (2003-2004, 2004-2005)
- Earned All-A-Sun Second Team honors in 2005
- A-Sun Tournament MVP in 2005
Josh Peppers — 2003-2007
- Scored 1,376 points at UCF
- Two-time All-Conference selection (A-Sun-2005, C-USA-2007)
- Helped Knights to back-to-back A-Sun titles and NCAA Tournaments in 2004 and 2005
- Ranked fifth all-time at UCF with 123 games played
Paul Reed — 1999-2002
- Scored 1,182 points at UCF
- Ranks 4th all-time at UCF with 685 rebounds
- Ranks second in blocked shots (127) all-time at UCF
- Earned All-Atlantic Sun Second Team in 2002
Aubrey Dawkins — 2018-2019
- Second Team All-AAC in his only season at UCF (2018-2019)
- Helped the Knights to the NCAA Tournament in 2019
- 1,103 minutes played in 2019 ranks as the 7th-most minutes played in a single season in program history
- Scored 32 points in the 2nd Round of the NCAA Tournament against Duke, the most by a Knight in an NCAA Tournament game.
- Most field goals (12) and steals (3) by a Knight in an NCAA Tournament
- 5th all-time in career 3-point percentage at UCF (40.3%)
