NFL training camps have started up across the country, and nearly two dozen former Arizona Wildcats are competing for spots on regular season rosters.
In April the UA saw four defensive backs get taken in the 2026 NFL Draft, with Treydan Stukes and Dalton Johnson going to the Las Vegas Raiders, Genesis Smith to the Los Angeles Chargers and Michael Dansby to the Seattle Seahawks. But they weren’t the only members of last year’s Arizona squad to get a shot at making the league this fall.

Decambra signed as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals, as did wide receiver Luke Wysong with the Minnesota Vikings, defensive lineman Deshawn McKnight with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and most recently linebacker Riley Wilson with the New England Patriots.
All four of the UA’s 2025 draft picks are in camp with the teams that picked them, led by reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Tetairoa McMillan with the Carolina Panthers. The other second-year Wildcats are running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt (Washington Commanders), offensive lineman Jonah Savaiinaea (Miami Dolphins) and kicker Tyler Loop (Baltimore Ravens).
All three Wildcats that were drafted in 2024 are also still in action, and two are training camp teammates. Tight end Tanner McLachlan, who was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals, recently signed with the San Francisco 49ers where he’ll join ex-UA wide receiver Jacob Cowing, while offensive lineman Jordan Morgan is back with the Green Bay Packers.
Elsewhere, 2021 draftees Gary Brightwell (Bengals) and Roy Lopez (Cardinals) are still going strong, while undrafted kicker Lucas Havrisik is back with the Packers for another go-around after setting the franchise record for longest field goal last fall.
Arizona has three kickers in the NFL, as the ageless Nick Folk signed with the Atlanta Falcons in the spring and is set for his 18th season. The 41-year-old is the active leader in field goals made with 431, which ranks 12th in NFL history.
And speaking of veterans, linebacker Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles is headed into his seventh season and first with the Buffalo Bills after signing as a free agent in the offseason.
There are also two players in training camp who began their college careers at Arizona but finished elsewhere. Linebacker Tony Fields II is with the Chicago Bears and cornerback Christian Roland-Wallace is with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Preseason NFL games begin Aug. 6 with the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. The Cardinals, with Decambra and Lopez, take on the Panthers and T-Mac.
