Maryland track and field sprinter Armanie Coleman shattered the program record in the 100 meters on Friday at the Virginia Challenge.
Coleman posted a time of 11.49 seconds — the previous record was 11.50, set by Leona Taylor in 1979. It was the longest standing women’s program record. Coleman’s time secured her third place in the event.
On Saturday, Coleman also helped deliver Maryland’s third-fastest 4×100 relay in program history with a time of 45.07. Coleman has been the anchor leg in each of the Terps’
four fastest 4×100 races.
