The Detroit Lions are the last team in the NFC North to get involved in divisional play, and it kicks off with a big one. On Sunday afternoon, they host the Green Bay Packers in a battle to stay out of the basement of the division. The Chicago Bears already won this week to move to 5-2 while the 5-0 Vikings are in the midst of a battle with the Colts to stay undefeated. The Lions (3-2) and the Packers (4-2) just don’t want to fall behind too quickly.
Both teams are getting some reinforcements this
week. The Lions are getting starting center Cade Mays into the lineup for the first time this year, and Pro Bowl safety Brian Branch is set to make his 2026 debut after last season ended abruptly with an Achilles tear. The Packers, on the other hand, are getting back running back Josh Jacobs—fresh off the Commissioner’s Exempt List—to try and help bring some life to an anemic rushing attack.
