I’m an incredibly optimistic individual. For any of you whom have read my stuff, it is to a fault. I freely admit that. But if you want to know my genuine feelings right now, it can be summed up like this.
Now let me be clear, don’t go after family members of coaches. That’s completely off limits. If anyone actually went after Matt Rhule’s daughter, shame on you. You need to be banned for that. I’m all for having an opinion and stating it, but what you say online is vastly different than what you say in person.
Vitriol said to family members who have no effect on how Nebraska plays is uncalled for.
Now, back to the original problem I have. How in the ever-loving hell can Nebraska continue to step on its own sack? How can Dana Holgorsen be so inept at play calling? Why is Matt Rhule interjecting ideas to his coordinators and not letting them do their jobs? How can you as a head coach not know that YOUR STAR QUATERBACK is being looked at by team doctors? How can the team doctors not inform the coaching staff who is being looked at and for what injury?
The genuine lack of communication in this program is palpable. It ironically speaks louder than anything else that has gone silent over the last 3 weeks. I don’t care what the “analytics” say, I care about winning. Analytics tell me that you have ZERO FEEL for how things are. Numbers don’t win you ball games; it’s purely the individuals. How many damn assistant coaches and “quality control” people do this staff need to hire? It’s already costing way too much for the minimal development.
If you think we are beating Illinois on Friday, I have bad news for you…we aren’t. Bret Bielema eats Nebraska for lunch. He eats A LOT for lunch. If anyone needs to be on Ozempic, it’s him and not Fat Rhule. Rhule is showing that one of the side effects of Ozempic is a complete lack of coaching. Despite his weight loss, he couldn’t find his head up his ass with two hands and a flashlight currently. This last press conference, he looked like he was more interested about blaming the fans and his defense instead of his inept offense.
You know who else threw his best unit under the bus? That’s right, his predecessor. Rhule nearly breaking down in tears was the same come to Jesus moment Scott Frost had when he knew he wasn’t the guy either. You need a guy to recruit the Midwest so his son can get 3 carries a game as the third string running back? How does he still have 3 guys on his staff that he demoted? How many extra people do we need to pay for your crappy system to work?
Nebraska’s most successful coaching staffs were limited by the NCAA in total number, but they were so good at their jobs they didn’t need a bunch of oversight to do it well. There are far too many cooks in the kitchen, and the only slop these buffoons come up with on a weekly basis wouldn’t even be suitable for vermin. This coaching staff is the cure to brain-eating amoebas. They possess absolutely no genuine feel how the game flows.
This is the downfall of Matt Rhule. I don’t care how much is owed. You can’t be an incompetent fool and get away with it. The fans make pennies on the dollar compared to coaches and players now, but we’d easily be fired for gross negligence/incompetence. In the end, if you can’t do your job, you will be fired. Matt Rhule knows the time is ticking. If he really wants to get this fixed, he better hurry. If he doesn’t, I say make him be miserable with the rest of us. We’ve grown accustomed to it.
Money is ruining college football. NIL stood for Name, Image, Likeness, not signing contracts like a free agent every year. Most of these kids will be MC Hammer broke within 5 years because their parents are their agents. Whether their parents hijack that money or no one shows them how to be monetarily successful, it will lead to nothing but angst. There are definitely plenty of examples of pro athletes who couldn’t handle fame or fortune.
