Every year NFL teams host joint practices during the month of August to help in their preparation for the regular season. Some teams host just one joint practice, some host multiple, and some teams decide to stick to themselves. This year, the Chargers are a part of that first group with just one joint practice on their schedule.
This year, the Bolts are hosting Jim Harbaugh’s former team, the San Francisco 49ers, in El Segundo on August 18th ahead of their preseason exhibition game that coming weekend.
Harbaugh coached the 49ers from 2011-2014 where he took them to three consecutive NFC Championship Games (2011-2013) and one appearance in the Super Bowl (2012) where he lost to his brother John and the Ravens.
The Chargers have a three-game preseason schedule this year that kicks off in Houston on August 13th against the Texans. They’re at home for the final two games, hosting the 49ers on August 20th and being the “away” team against the Rams on the 27th.
