TCU sophomore catcher Nolan Traeger has reportedly entered the transfer portal after two seasons with the Horned Frogs. Jamie Plunkett of Horned Frog Blitz was first to report the news about Traeger, who slashed .287/.399/.414 with four home runs, eight doubles and 34 RBIs during the 2026 season. The left-handed slugger and younger brother of former TCU pitcher Jax Traeger, Nolan Traeger enjoyed a breakout freshman season in 2025, posting a .327/.429/.472 slash line with three homers, three triples,
eight doubles and 17 RBIs.
Traeger appeared in 93 games and made 87 starts in his two years with the Horned Frogs, who went 33-21 and failed to make the NCAA Tournament this season. The 6-foot, 215-pounder from Spring, Texas brought home a list of accolades as a freshman. He was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team, received Second-Team All-Big 12 and Second-Team Perfect Game Freshman All-American honors. He was also invited to the 2025 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. Traeger will depart the Horned Frogs with two years of eligibility left.
