The Rays beat the Guardians 4-2. Go watch football or something.
ok, if you must know, the Guardians were no-hit until a two-out José Ramírez single in the 6th, and shutout until a Jose Ramirez home run and Kyle Manzardo home run in the 9th off of Pete Fairbanks. Jose looks like he may be back after a slump that had him with a 47 wRC+ since August 1st entering tonight.
You may be aware that the Guardians have only two hitters who are above average – Jose and Manzardo. That’s what it comes down to,
every night. No one else can be relied upon.
would be nice to see George Valera get some run and see if he can be a spark. Alas, he was the only Guardians hitter not to get an AB tonight.
Nic Enright has the dreaded forearm tightness which is very sad. But, hey, Travis Bazzana finally popped off at Columbus tonight. Hope he and Jose can finish the season strong.
oh, and westbrook and xrick were right, I was wrong – Manzardo looks unplayable at first base. He’s gotta be a DH. Sorry, fellas.
