Bayern Munich has endured a poor re-start to the club season after the elongated September international break. While the performances before the break were not always there, the results mostly followed. But now the performances and results are poor. The Bavarians’ 3-3 draw with Viking Star in the Champions League on Tuesday is the second game in a row that they have drawn, having shared points with Augsburg over the weekend.
Now this will not put the kind of pressure on head coach Vincent Kompany
that could see him lose his job, but things at Bayern are always tense after dropping points in consecutive matches. Blame is being attributed to multiple poor individual performances and iffy effort levels, but, in the post match interview, Kompany decided to pin the blame on himself:
“As a coach, it’s always your responsibility. I also take responsibility for the individual mistakes made by my players,” the Belgian coach said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
The coach is looking to take the fire for his players.
