It’s Sunday once again, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! The Yankees had an action-packed week on the field, wrapping up their four-game set with Boston, playing three games against the Nationals in the Bronx, and then flying out to Chicago for four games against the White Sox, all without a single day off. As the players labored on the field, the social media team was hard at work, looking back to 1776, ahead to 2026, and beyond. With so much to see,
let’s get started!
The Stadium Where It Happened
Last Monday, the Yankees celebrated the tenth anniversary of the hit Broadway musical Hamilton with their first-ever Hamilton Night. Just as the team does with Star Wars Day, the Yankees pulled out all the stops as they gave the game presentation a Founding Father facelift, photoshopping the Yankees’ players so they looked straight out of 1776 (and the Nationals’ players so they looked like redcoats), turning “Name the Yankee” into “Name the Founding Father” on the center field scoreboard, and asking fans which British monarch blew a 13-0 colony lead to the “American underdogs.”
The social media team must employ some former theatre kids, as they made sure to get in on the fun.
While Lin-Manuel Miranda didn’t make an appearance, several members of the original Broadway cast were in attendance. Stephanie Klemons, a native New Yorker and the show’s original dance captain, hung out with fans on the concourse prior to the game. Renée Elise Goldsberry, the original Angelica Schuyler, threw out the ceremonial first pitch. The current Schuyler sisters sang “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch. And the OG George Washington, Christopher Jackson, kicked things off with the national anthem.
During the game, Jackson visited the YES and radio broadcast booths, as did the current Alexander Hamilton, Trey Curtis.
The stars of Hamilton, though, were not the only big names in attendance. Yankees great CC Sabathia was behind home plate, where he snapped this photo — and was highlighted on the YES broadcast because he was unwittingly sitting behind the advertisement for his HOF plaque giveaway.

The LegaCCy Gala
Speaking of CC, his foundation is holding its annual gala soon, where they will honor a player that Yankees fans know very well, and have missed seeing very very much: Gerrit Cole. He and his wife Amy are the recipient’s of this year’s LegCCy Award.
Behind-the-Scenes of Picture Day
Have you ever tried to get a bunch of middle school children to take a group photo? I can tell you from experience that it’s not easy. And yet, somehow, it looks like getting a major league team to take a team photo might actually be more difficult.
The Schedule Release
Major League Baseball announced the 2026 schedule this week. While schedule release videos have not quite become an art form in baseball the same way they are in the NFL these days, the Yankees used the opportunity to honor Freddy Sez, a fan well-known to those who frequented the Stadium in the 1990s and 2000s.
Little League Press Conference
This week, a group of Yankees fielded questions from a bunch of junior reporters at Yankee Stadium.
Caballero’s kid turns five
New Yankee utilityman José Caballero celebrated his daughter’s fifth birthday this week. Happy Birthday!
