The word for this had started to come out yesterday, but just moments ago, the news became officially official.
Officially.
The National Football League has named the Twin Cities the home of the 2028 National Football League Draft. They will take the torch from Washington, D.C., which will host the 2027 event at the National Mall this coming April.
The vote took place at the NFL Spring Meetings, which are taking place in Orlando,
Florida this week. While there were other cities that were trying to get the spot, the Twin Cities had been considered the favorite going into Draft Weekend last month, and was one of several cities that had a contingent in Pittsburgh to pitch their plans for hosting the Draft in 2028 to the league.
U.S. Bank Stadium will be the centerpiece of the Draft festivities in the Twin Cities, but the event will likely take advantage of many other facilities in the area as well. I’m sure we’ll learn a great deal more about going forward, as we’re now 23 months away from the big event.
Congratulations to the Minnesota Vikings and the Twin Cities area on officially being named the hosts for the 2028 National Football League Draft!
