The Knockouts Television Championship tournament is full steam ahead to crown the inaugural titleholder in TNA. There were a few surprises when the bracket was released, and one of those was a former NXT women’s North American champion. Thea Hail made the most of the opportunity to move on to the next round.
Impact (July 16, 2026) hosted a pair of first-round matchups on Thursday night. Hail competed against Harley Hudson. The DAD (determined and dedicated) is looking to make history in TNA.
Hail showed style on offense. Hudson’s power helped control the pace. Hudson gambled for a flying leg drop as Hail was hanging through the ropes. Crash and burn. Hail quickly took advantage of the miss to land a bottom rope springboard senton for the win.
Even though Hail advances, it may be the end of the road in the next round. Hail is set to wrestle Indi Hartwell in the quarterfinals. Hartwell is one of the strong favorites to win the tournament.
The other first-round matchup on Impact was between Rosemary and M by Elegance. There was funny business on the outside involving the Personal Concierge, Heather by Elegance, and Allie. M outsmarted Rosemary in the end. Allie pulled Heather off the apron, and that caught the referee’s attention. M took advantage to spit champagne in the eyes of the Demon Assassin. M scored a roll-up to win.
In the quarterfinals, M awaits the winner of Elayna Black versus Wendy Choo.
On the other side of the bracket, Mara Sade wrestles Heather by Elegance in the quarterfinals. Jody Threat punched her ticket to quarterfinals to face the winner between Alisha Edwards and Jada Stone.
