WWE held a town hall meeting recently and the powers that be covered a lot of ground, from discussing why they’re running more house shows to whether or not they’ll be going to Saudi Arabia this year amidst conflict in the Middle East. The United States is still at war with Iran and tensions led to questions regarding whether or not the company would bother with planned shows.
Just a couple weeks back, TKO addressed as much in an investors call, with Mark Shapiro reiterating plans to move ahead with scheduled
shows on June 27 from both UFC and WWE. They called it “a challenging environment” but said their partners in Saudi Arabia remained as committed as they do.
Now, PW Insider brings word that indeed all future events are moving ahead:
Regarding Saudi Arabia, we are told they said the June event is still on (as are other events down the line) and that they are not concerned about going there.
Night of Champions is the event scheduled for next month in Riyadh and there’s no longer any reason to doubt it happening where they initially scheduled it.
