Hey everyone! It’s your favorite (bold assumption but I’m making it) recipe writer here, looking to get you into the game. The food game. Okay, just the food writing game. I think you get the idea. I want you to tell me recipes you’d like to see my take on and I’ll compile your ideas, choose ones I like, and give you a shoutout if I write yours up.
Oh yeah, you can count on me doing something zany and weird with the idea too. It’s kind of my brand.
What are you talking about weirdo?
Weirdo? Do you know who you’re talking to with that
heading posed as a hypothetical question from the reader? I’m the creator of the Zubazgel, and don’t you forget it!
This was easily my favorite creation from last season’s recipes. For those of you new to the site, each year I do recipes based on the Bills and their opponent for every week of the regular and postseason. Sometimes they get weird, and often the food is pretty good if you want to try it out. Here’s the Zubazgel recipe if you’re curious.
Once in awhile there’s even a really good idea. Like my Sloppy Joe variant that’s way cleaner to eat than usual thanks to the addition of onion rings. It’s called the “Tidy Joey”
I’m not just simply stretching my word count with these, but attempting to get your creative ideas swirling too. Swirling like this insanely glittery drink I concocted.
In all seriousness, these ideas are here to show the breadth of what you’re free to suggest. Simple cocktails can become surprisingly fun in the right hands. Engineering applied to sandwiches, or finding out just how “mixing averse” dough can be toward itself are just some of the oddities we’ve had a blast with over the years.
For longtime readers, you know the original goal was to always have a strong tie-in with the opposing team and that’s certainly still fair game. That said, I’ve been doing these since Week 1 of the 2018 season. By my count that’s 148 games, and roughly that many recipes (I doubled up once during COVID and have made a couple special editions over the years).
What I’m getting at is that I’ve done all sorts of things already and gotten into some deep dives for research purposes. If I can find a tie-in with the opponent, I will. If not, let’s still have some fun with it. Let me know in the comments what recipe you might want to see me butcher!
