First Quarter
Nebraska’s defense comes out of the gate hot, forcing a turnover, leading to an Amiah Hargrove layup. Britt Prince starts her scoring early as she blows by a Washington defender for two. Both teams have been coming up empty handed due to the defenses stepping up. Prince gets a tough shot off glass to fall, giving the Huskers the 6-4 lead. Callin Hake collects the assist on a Jessica Petrie baby hook. Petrie will draw a Washington player into an offensive foul and that will take us to a media
timeout with 3:40 left in the first (8-4 Neb).
Great execution out of the timeout by Nebraska as Amiah Hargrove notches another two points. Britt Prince has a beautiful save on the defensive end that ends in a Claire Johnson fast break layup. Nebraska has forced Washington into three offensive fouls. Logan Nissley gets the offensive rebound, slips to the corner and swishes the three ball. Nebraska will end the first quarter with a 17-12 lead.

Second Quarter
Britt Prince has a wide open lane to the basket for two. Callin Hake gets a steal and sends the ball to Emily Fisher on a fast break attempt, she misses the shot but will get free throws (1 of 2). Nebraska has done a really good job at the start of this quarter at forcing Washington into one and done’s. Britt Prince already has 10 points as she catches the defense asleep again. Jessica Petrie hits the beautiful elbow jumper and Nebraska is up 26-15.
Washington cut it to a four point game, but Kennadi Williams drills a three to extend the lead. Amiah Hargrove takes baseline and gets the reverse layup to fall. Nebraska is getting really good inside looks, but unfortunately cannot finish at the rim. Logan Nissley dribbles to the right side elbow and sinks the mid range jumper (33-25 Neb). Jessica Petrie muscles her way to the rim and gets the shot to fall. Washington has clawed their way back to a three point deficit.

Third Quarter
Washington has taken the lead, but Britt Prince sends a dunk pass to Petra Bozan to grab it back. On the next defensive possession, Prince snatches the ball and goes coast to coast for two. Amiah Hargrove ties the ball game at 41, shortly after Washington grabs the two point lead. It’s a lot of back and forth missed shots and turnovers. A media timeout is taken with 4:45 left.
Jessica Petrie gets fouled and will head to the line to shoot two, she makes both and the Huskers are down just two. Kennadi Williams gets a steal and outlet passes the ball to Prince who will be shooting two (1 of 2). Jessica Petrie ties the ball game up with a top of the key three (47-47). Multiple empty possessions by Nebraska to end that quarter, thankfully they are only down four.

Fourth Quarter
Britt Prince just made such a crazy move at the end of the shot clock to get the floater to drop. Callin Hake sends a missile to the corner for a Logan Nissley three, Nebraska is down three after Washington goes down and gets two back. Emily Fisher snatches the ball back on a missed free throw and it will end in a Britt Prince layup (55-55). Nebraska takes a timeout with 5:24 left in the game down two.
Britt Prince takes an aggressive drive to the rim, won’t make the shot but will get free throws (2 of 2). Nebraska is down four with just under four minutes to go. The Huskers have had chances to take back the lead late, but shots have not been falling for them. Their defense is setting them up for these opportunities with back to back steals. Amiah Hargrove pulls the Huskers within two with 1:35 left in the game. A beautiful curl inside the paint leaves Hargrove wide open and she ties this game up at 63. Washington goes up two with 16 seconds left, Nebraska calls timeout. Britt Prince hits the huge step back three to give Nebraska the one point lead. It’s time for the Huskers to defense to step up big with seven seconds left. Washington had three opportunities to score at the end, but none of them fall. Nebraska takes the 66-65 win over the Huskies.
