The Philadelphia Eagles are not trending in the right direction.
They’re 2-5 this season after losing five straight.
Dating back to last year, they’re 5-10 in their last 15 games.
Was Monday night’s defeat to the Dallas Cowboys rock bottom? Or are there more losses on the way?
The odds are not in Philly’s favor when it comes to the prospect of bouncing back with a win in Week 8.
The Eagles are 5.5-point road underdogs to the 1-4-1 Washington Commanders on Sunday night, according to FanDuel.
This line has
moved in Washington’s favor after originally opening at 4.5 points.

This is a tough spot for the Eagles from a scheduling perspective. The Birds, who are already pretty injured, are coming off short rest against a Commanders team that got to enjoy their bye in Week 7.
Washington figures to be out for revenge after narrowly losing to the Eagles in Week 1. Dan Quinn is also trying to get off the hot seat after facing much scrutiny this season.
I do think we’ll see a more inspired defensive performance from the Eagles after they got embarrassed against the Cowboys. But effort and energy alone won’t fix their issues.
On offense, the Eagles are coming off their most encouraging performance of the season. But they also faced arguably the worst defense in the NFL. We need to see more before there’s any legitimate talk of them turning the corner.
I don’t think the Commanders are all that great but I struggle to give the Birds the benefit of the doubt.
What say you?
