Barcelona players have been accused of being “distracted” by the recent summer transfer window that brought the usual deluge of rumors about the club.
The Catalans have started the season with two wins and a draw but have been criticised by Hansi Flick and haven’t been at their very best yet in 2025-26.
Former Barca director Toni Freixa thinks that the players have been distracted by all the transfer talk in the early weeks of the season.
“I see a lot of youth, quality, potential, and a team that won
three titles last year,” he told ElDesmarque Madrugada
“I listened to Hansi Flick and I think that’s what a coach should say after a game that wasn’t good, and if he detects something that isn’t working, then it’s fine to give warnings . Many things like this are said throughout the season, so there’s no need to draw any major conclusions.
“He uses that question to point out something that is true: that the Barça locker room has been somewhat distracted in recent weeks of the transfer market. From within the club, people were pointing fingers at players or supposedly having bad relationships, which are completely false.”
Barcelona youngsters Marc Casado and Fermin Lopez were both linked with moves away in the final weeks of the window, although both have stayed and will continue with Barca.
The transfer window is also now closed until January, leaving clubs and players to focus purely on football once again.
