Sometime in the year after Windham “Bray Wyatt” Rotunda’s shocking, way-too-soon death in 2023, WWE and Rotunda’s family decided to continue using the characters and concepts he created. The first project
they used them in was The Wyatt Sicks (or Sick6) act fronted by Windham’s younger brother Taylor, who now plays the Uncle Howdy character they created together in addition to using his WWE name, Bo Dallas. The stable currently holds SmackDown’s Tag titles.
The latest Bray Wyatt-inspired projects is also one those who knew him say he would have loved the most — the Fire Fly Funhouse at Universal Studios Orlando’s famed Halloween Horror Nights.
Thousands of Brays’ fans, and many of his friends, loved ones and former colleagues have visited the attraction, and shared their praise and gratitude, along with what the experience meant to them. WWE sent cameras along as Taylor/Howdy’s followers in the Sick6 paid a visit. That video is embedded above.
It was emotional for Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, and Dexter Lumis, but even more so for Erick Rowan, who along with their friend and stablemate Luke Harper/Brodie Lee, formed a deep connection with Windham during their 2010s run together in WWE as The Wyatt Family.
When Rowan’s current teammates supportively chuckle a bit when his first response upon arriving at the Fire Fly Funhouse is simply, “cool”, he explained:
“I mean… I’m kind of just overcome with emotion right now. Like, I’m thinking about lots of different things. And I don’t know where my mind is right now.
”That’s why I’m like, ‘Cool.’ Windham loved horror, man. And for this to be happening… I just want to know that he can see it. And I want to see the house, I want to see if they do [bleeped] for Brodie [Lee] — and from what I’ve heard, they do.
“And, like, to me, it’s so cool — but it sucks. I know they see it. It’s just, that’s why I say it’s cool.”
Windham’s friend and frequent collaborator Jason Baker, a standout in the make-up and effects world, was also there. Sharing an embrace after going through the Funhouse, he and Rowan had an exchange that we think would make Bray smile.
Baker: We’re the only two guys crying in a haunted house.
Rowan: Evilly magical. Evil and magic.
