The Eagles face a tough stretch of opponents early in the season, but there was just a massive development regarding their Week 4 game against the Los Angeles Rams. Following LA’s international loss to the 49ers, Myles Garrett admitted he wasn’t playing his best and didn’t feel 100 percent, which has now landed him on injured reserve as he undergoes knee surgery.
Garrett will miss at least four games, which puts his return one week after the Eagles game … at the earliest. The Rams still have Aaron Donald returning, although he’s expected to take a couple weeks to ramp back up coming out of retirement. Donald will undoubtedly make things difficult for the Eagles offensive line, but the group will be in a much better place planning for just one of the best defenders in NFL history, instead of two.
Coming off a record-breaking season, Garrett had high hopes with a fresh start out in California, but he ended up missing extended time due to his discomfort throughout training camp. Still, he isn’t someone who will need much time to catch-up, he’s just a guy who needs to be healthy in order to terrorize offenses once again — thankfully, that won’t be against the Eagles, though.
