One day after activating them from injured reserve to their 53-man roster, the New England Patriots have officially made offensive tackle Will Campbell and defensive tackle Milton Williams active for Sunday’s
regular season finale against the Miami Dolphins. It will mark the first time since November that both are on the game day roster.
Campbell suffered a knee injury in Week 12 against the Cincinnati Bengals and spent four weeks on IR, only returning to practice earlier this week. Williams, who hurt his ankle in Week 11 versus the New York Jets, was already eligible to come off the reserve list last week but was not activated despite a return to practice.
Now, both he and Campbell have been given the green light. The expectation is that both will resume their starting roles along New England’s offensive and defensive lines, respectively.
The Patriots’ inactives, meanwhile, looks as follows.
Patriots inactives
- QB3 Tommy DeVito
- OT Marcus Bryant
- LG Jared Wilson
- OL Caedan Wallace
- DT Khyiris Tonga
- ED Harold Landry III
- LB Robert Spillane
The Patriots entered the weekend with four players already ruled out, all of them starter-level contributors: left guard Jared Wilson (concussion protocol), defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga (foot) and linebackers Harold Landry III (knee) and Robert Spillane (ankle). Out of the four, only Spillane practiced at one point during the week. The team captain was a limited participant on Friday.
The other three inactives, meanwhile, are all healthy scratches. This also means that the two questionables — fullback Jack Westover (ankle) and cornerback Charles Woods (foot) — are good to go.
Dolphins inactives
- QB3 Tua Tagovailoa
- RB De’Von Achane
- WR Jaylen Waddle
- OT Austin Jackson
- ED Chop Robinson
- S Minkah Fitzpatrick
The Dolphins’ inactives list reads like a who’s who of their roster: all six are regular starters. Demoted starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is joined by the team’s No. 1 running back (De’Von Achane), leading receiver (Jaylen Waddle), starting right tackle (Austin Jackson), second outside linebacker (Chop Robinson), and top safety (Minkah Fitzpatrick).
Kickoff between the Patriots and Dolphins at Gillette Stadium is set for 4:25 p.m. ET.
