The Cleveland Browns selected Texas A&M WR KC Concepcion with the 24th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and he’s a picture-perfect fit for what Todd Monken wants to do on offense.
Heading into this year’s draft, Monken was looking for two things in a potential wide receiver: RAC ability and an elite short-to-intermediate route-runner. If you’d ask any NFL Scout, they’d say that KC Concepcion is a complete embodiment of those two traits.
If you think about the type of player that Monken was trying
to find in this year’s class, all you have to do is look back at his Baltimore offenses over the past couple of seasons. There’s a very good chance that he was searching for Cleveland’s version of the Ravens’ Pro Bowl receiver Zay Flowers, who was undoubtedly the main downfield weapon in that passing game.
Flowers is one of the most dangerous and explosive receivers in the game within 15 yards of the LOS, and Browns fans can expect to see Concepcion being used in the exact same way in 2026. Intermediate choice routes, in-breakers, and whip routes will be the name of the game for Cleveland’s new offensive weapon, with the occasional deep-overs and posts sprinkled in against man coverage.
If Concepcion can separate anywhere close to the level that he was able to against SEC cornerbacks in 2025, the Browns might have found themselves an absolute steal at No.24.
