With the transfer portal set to officially open on April 7th, Mizzou will have multiple roster spots to fill in the offseason. As of right now, Trent Pierce and Trent Burns are set to return next season with Anthony Robinson II and Sebastian Mack transferring out.
Jason Crowe Jr. and Toni Bryant are two five-star freshman coming in after recently shining in the McDonalds’ All-American Game.
As for the portal, we asked what Mizzou Basketball’s biggest need is — and the majority voted for the center
position.
This sounds about right because Dennis Gates and the staff have yet to land a difference making center. In the last two seasons, Josh Gray and Shawn Phillips Jr. were serviceable but couldn’t consistently play at a high-level.
It’s easier said than done, but landing a high-quality center in the transfer portal could go a long way in improving Mizzou’s defense and rebounding.
This sure sets up to be an intriguing offseason as the program heads into a pivotal fifth year under Gates and company.
There’s only a couple of more college basketball games remaining — so feel free to bet the Final Four action over at FanDuel Sportsbook.
