What is the story about?
He’s back! According to Jeff Passan, the Phillies are finalizing a five-year, $150 million deal with 2025 NL MVP runner up and home run king Kyle Schwarber.
Schwarber’s 2025 was the best season of his 11-year career so far.
His 56 homers led the NL and his 132 RBI led all of Major League Baseball. He played all 162 games for the first time in his career and was a clear clubhouse leader both on and off the field. He was named to his third All Star Game and was an MVP finalist for the first time.
Other notable suitors rumored to be interested in Schwarber included the Mets, Red Sox, Orioles, Pirates and Reds.
Welcome back home, Kyle!
