Newly-crowned UFC middleweight champion Khamzat Chimaev will make his first 185-pound title defense against former division titleholder Sean Strickland atop the upcoming UFC 328 event on Paramount+, scheduled for Sat., May 9, 2026 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Now they have an official poster.
The “Nowhere to Run” tagline makes me nostalgic
for the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie where he escapes from the prison bus in Death Warrant, falls in love with the girl from Desperately Seeking Susan, fights Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs, and cancels diplomatic immunity for the creep in Lethal Weapon 2.
“When push comes to shove, you’re not going to be dealing with some little tin-badge local sheriff guy. You’re going to be dealing with me.”
“I look forward to it.”
Sorry, I love cheesy movies.
UFC 328 will also feature the flyweight title fight between Joshua Van, who like Khamzat will be making his first title defense, and No. 3-ranked contender Tatsurao Taira. Their bout was originally expected to go down at UFC 327 this weekend in Miami; however, an injury delayed their contest for another month.
