Here at MWCConnection, we continue to reflect and analyze this past football season, both this week as well as over the months to come.
Yesterday, we released our postseason all-MW teams. Today, we are
releasing our postseason awards. Like yesterday’s post, our team members submitted their picks, and the players and teams with the most votes won out. Take a look at what we said in the preseason here, and then view what we compiled below:

Notes:
- The votes were pretty straightforward this year, even if not all had a consensus. STPOY, defensive transfer, offensive freshman, and Coach of the Year were all unanimous choices.
- Almost all the others were two-team races, with Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year being the closest races
- Defensive Breakout POY was the only category that had more than two people who received votes.
- When comparing our preseason votes, Micah Alejado was the only one to carry over from the preseason, and he was in a different category.
- New Mexico has won the Coach of the Year award with two different coaches.
- The Lobs led the way with three selections, and three other teams were right behind them with two. This year, five teams had at least one representative.
There it is. So let’s hear it. Who did we snub? Who did we put on here that shouldn’t be? Let’s hear your feedback in the comments section.
Coming tomorrow: Our coverage continues as we will take a look at which teams had the best position units in 2025.
