Speaking after Bayern Munich’s 2-1 loss to Wehen Wiesbaden in Bayern’s first preseason game of the year, sporting director Christoph Freund suggested that Bayern are pretty much done with the incomings this summer window.
“We’re very far along. We also don’t want the squad to be too big this year. We want quality and, hopefully, players who remain available throughout the entire season. There won’t be much more movement in terms of new signings. We’re very happy with where we are and feel we’re well
equipped,” said Freund (as captured via @iMiaSanMia).
This statement follows the signings of Ismael Saibari and Nathaniel Brown early in the window, bringing in much-needed reinforcement in those areas. However, fans might argue the opposite to Freund and suggest that there is still a long way to go, with squad depth often being a key factor for Champions League success late in the season.
