With the departure of Ferran Torres to PSG confirmed, there was a question of who would take his number 7 shirt at Barcelona this season. Now we have an answer.
Fermín López has been registered in the official La Liga website with the number 7 after wearing #16 for the start of his Barça career.
It’s a well deserved change for an immensely talented attacking player who gets an iconic number that belonged to the likes of David Villa, Pedro and Henrik Larsson in the club’s recent past.

also opens the door for new signing Rodri to wear his favorite number 16, which will undoubtedly bring up memories of Sergio Busquets wearing that number at the start of his Barça career.
Anthony Gordon had also been tipped to wear number 7 before Fermín’s change was confirmed, but he will likely take #17 which was the number he chose for his Barça debut against FC Basel and currently belongs to Marc Casadó, who is set to leave the club this summer.
