What is the story about?

One of Bayern Munich’s primary contenders in the Bundesliga this season figures to be RB Leipzig.

However, a big contingency on Leipzig being a serious contender is having Yan Diomandé on its roster, which is not a certainty at this point. Amid interested from Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain, the youngster could be on the move.

Paris at any cost. This summer, Yan Diomandé is a highly sought-after player. With 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 matches across all competitions last season with RB Leipzig, the Ivorian has caught the eye of numerous clubs. This Thursday, Bild highlights the list of clubs drawn to his profile, his skills, and his potential—especially since he’s only 19 years old. Liverpool, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain are all in the running to sign him. But the French club is currently in the lead.

So, what is the hold up? It appears that a deal for the attacker could some with some contingencies for RB Leipzig:

Bild revealed that the Bundesliga club would agree to sell their player under two conditions. The first is that he be sold for €100 million. The second condition is that the club to which he is sold will have to agree to loan Diomandé back for a season. It’s hard to imagine Paris Saint-Germain accepting such a deal.

Bild even specifies that Luis Enrique is against it. While it was thought that this matter would progress a bit more after Ivory Coast’s elimination, this is not the case. And this is starting to worry Yan Diomandé’s camp. This is what Bild explains this Thursday morning. We learn that the entourage of the player, who is under contract until 2030 and is expected next week to participate in his team’s pre-season training camp in Austria, is putting pressure on PSG.

A loan back to RB Leipzig could keep Die Roten Bullen in the Bundesliga race, but an outright sale would certainly weaken that possibility of RB Leipzig catching Bayern Munich this season.
