We have some good news on the injury front for the Broncos.
According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, sources told him that cornerback Riley Moss’s rib injury, which he suffered vs. the Green Bay Packers on Friday night, is NOT considered serious
.Moss left Friday night’s game during the opening series of the game after he landed on a loose ball for the would-be fumble recovery before being landed on by other players. The fumble was later overturned by the refs, and Moss was seen holding his rib area and heading to the blue tent. He would head to the locker room, likely to receive X-rays, and did not return to the game. After the game, Broncos Head Coach Sean Payton told reporters that Moss was “doing good” and that “we’ll see” regarding his injury. Thankfully, it does sound like a minor injury, and hopefully, Moss will not be sidelined for long.
Klis notes that Moss is not expected to practice today when the Broncos hit the field for their closed-to-the-public practice, so we’ll see if we find out anything else from Payton when he meets with the media later today.
Before the injury, Moss had a near interception and has been having a strong summer. He was a standout player for the Broncos throughout training camp and had an interception during their preseason opener game. So, it’s great news that he is okay; the injury is not considered serious, and hopefully he will be good to go for Week 1 vs. the Chiefs.
Moss wasn’t the only Broncos player to come out of the Packers game dinged up. He is also reporting that backup offensive tackle Frank Crum had an awkward step while engaged in pass protection and did not play in the final two-play series of the game. Like Moss, he is not expected to practice today as well. We’ll have to see if we find out any further details about Crum’s injury and how long he could be sidelined.
