What is the story about?
Happy Wednesday, everyone. Except, maybe, for the Detroit Tigers. News is emerging that Zack Gelof of the A’s is suing the Tigers for lost potential earnings after he missed a month of play from an injury he sustained in Comerica Park’s outfield. We’ll have more on that below, but it’s not exactly how the Tigers would like to start their offseason, certainly.
We’re also into the Wild Card games now, so news is going to be all postseason all the time. We’ll have more of that in the coming days as the final
postseason picture takes shape.

- Sam Blum has more information on the lawsuit, in which Gelof cites that his injury at Comerica Park “will adversely impact his future earnings.” The lawsuit suggests that the exposed piece of metal that Gelof ran into was not something that he could have anticipated encountering. “Not in a professional stadium, where everyone else involved are making 10s of millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars off the performance of these athletes,” his lawyer said. Gelof missed a month of play following the injury.
