The upcoming international break will signal the start of something new, and the end of an era. Jürgen Klopp will manage his first game as Germany coach, but Adidas will no longer be the German national football team’s main kit supplier, with Die Mannschaft making the switch to Nike starting next year. As part of the sendoff, Adidas reissued Germany’s away kit from 1990 and the team will wear it against the Netherlands on September 24:
BFW Commentary
Adidas is mostly hit or miss in recent times. To perfectly describe the pool of kits that Adidas made for Germany (and for Bayern Munich for that matter), I’ll let Gennaro Gattuso say it:

I will say: the black “final edition kit” and this reissued 1990 away kit is better than I expected, especially the latter one. I have said this before, and I will say it again: replacing tradition for money is rarely a good move. If this kit deal with Nike flops, the DFB only has themselves to blame.
On a brighter note, I’m pleased to announce that this is my 2000th post for BFW since joining the team four years ago. It’s been a blast and I have no intention of slowing down anytime soon.
