With players moving in and out of the transfer portal and coaches hopping around the country, players are also announcing their declarations for the 2026 NFL Draft. Among those players is TCU redshirt
senior cornerback Jevon McIver Jr., who will depart after two seasons with the Horned Frogs. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder from Charlotte, North Carolina registered 31 total tackles and eight pass breakups over 22 games played at TCU. McIver Jr., transferred in from Austin Peay, where he earned First-Team All-UAC honors in 2023.
McIver started his collegiate career at Lenoir-Rhyne before playing two seasons at Austin Peay. In 2023, McIver Jr. compiled 61 total tackles, 12 pass breakups and one interception along with one tackle for loss and a forced fumble. McIver Jr., played in 23 games at Austin Peay and started all 12 games during the 2023 season before transferring to TCU. As a Horned Frog, McIver Jr. primarily took on a reserve role at cornerback, playing in almost all of the team’s games over the 2024 and 2025 seasons. He had a season-high seven tackles against SMU.
