The Islanders blueline has Alex Romanov out for the season, Ryan Pulock with a new injury (2-4 weeks), Scott Mayfield and Matt Kessell with a “they are who they are” status, so the latest move is to bring 33-year-old Ben Hutton in on a PTO.
It’s Ben, not Grant, Hutton. [Isles]
Hutton is a Stanley Cup Winner(TM), and played under Pete DeBoer, but he was unsigned by anyone heading into November. He could surprise you, or he could confirm that he’s done; they have a 10-day PTO to figure that out. So…that’s
where the Isles are as they have a rare four-day break between games.
Speaking of breaks, that always allows for jersey launches and the nice commiunity side of stuff, and Matthew Schaefer got to dedicate a cancer treatment room to his mom. [Isles | Newsday]
