Barcelona target Joao Pedro has been talking about his style of play and has compared himself to Robert Lewandowski, Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero.
The Brazilian has emerged as a target at Barcelona following the departure of Robert Lewandowski. Pedro says he’s used to playing a similar role to the Poland international for club and country.
“I used to play as a number 10, I like freedom, but I can help the team in different positions. I play similarly to Harry Kane, Lewandowski, Agüero,” he said on the Rio
Ferdinand Presents podcast
“If I don’t get the ball, I have the freedom to move. If I don’t have the ball, I move because I need to have the ball to score, change the game, and help the team.”
Pedro also spoke about what it’s like to play alongside Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.
“I played a match against him once in Morocco. I thought, ‘We have to be careful with him; if he has the ball in the box, we’re in trouble,’” he added.
“De Paul and Enzo just supported him; it was something magical. The players make things easier for him; he’s different, he’s magical. He’s not something special, he’s not strong, but he plays like no one else. He’s top-class, different. It’s hard to explain.”
Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Pedro this summer but Chelsea don’t want to sell the Brazilian after seeing him score 20 goals in his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.
