La Familia officially announced three roster additions on Monday for the upcoming edition of The Basketball Tournament, including the return of two familiar fan favorites.
Former Kentucky basketball stars Willie Cauley-Stein and Archie Goodwin will both return to La Familia this summer, while former Wildcat forward Reid Travis is expected to officially make his TBT debut after previously being unable to compete because of professional obligations.
Cauley-Stein returns for his third straight season
with La Familia after becoming one of the team’s most impactful players during its first two tournament appearances. The former Kentucky center was named TBT Defensive Player of the Year in 2024 and played a major role in helping La Familia reach the Final Four during the program’s inaugural season. Known for his elite rim protection and defensive versatility during his college career, Cauley-Stein was also the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and a consensus First Team All-American in 2015.
Goodwin also returns after helping spark La Familia offensively in last year’s tournament. The former Kentucky guard scored 16 points in the team’s second-round victory over War Ready at Memorial Coliseum, helping complete a late comeback to advance.
Meanwhile, Travis gives La Familia another experienced frontcourt presence. The former Stanford standout and Kentucky graduate transfer averaged 11.2 points and 7.2 rebounds during his lone season in Lexington while helping lead the Wildcats to the Elite Eight during the 2018-19 season.
