The Los Angeles Chargers are bringing back some depth for their offensive line.
According to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Chargers are signing offensive lineman Trey Pipkins to a two-year deal worth $10 million. The contract will give Pipkins the opportunity to earn up to $2 million in bonuses.
Pipkins, who turns 30 in September, has been with the Chargers since he was selected in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft. This will be his eighth season with the team, and he has started at least
10 games in each of the last four seasons. He was a full-time starter from 2022-24, but he came off the bench in three games for the Chargers this past season.
Considering the fact that Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt are both coming off of big injuries, it is important for the Chargers to get a player that can fill in for them on a moment’s notice. Pipkins played that role last season, and he will continue to do so for the Chargers in 2026.
