Bayern Munich have been relentless in front of goal this season. Die Rekordmeister is now firmly closing in on their own 101 goal Bundesliga scoring record set back in the 1971/72 campaign. After thrashing Union Berlin 4-0 at the the Allianz Arena, Bayern are only four goals away from equaling their record-breaking tally. While Bayern’s attack has been consistently functioning on all cylinders, has anyone stopped to ask when the last time they kept a clean sheet in the Bundesliga?
Well according to
@iMiaSanMia before locking Union out to a donut, the last time Bayern kept a clean sheet at the Allianz Arena was on the 1st of November 2025 in a 3-0 victory against Bayer Leverkusen — nearly five months ago!
Bayern have kept their first clean sheet at home in the Bundesliga since November 1st against Leverkusen (3-0).
Vincent Kompany has crafted a masterful attack. Not one team has been able to prevent the Munich-based side from scoring a goal this season. One the hand, while Bayern’s defense certainly isn’t bad, no domestic clean sheet at home in just under five months is an indicator that there is still work to be done. Although, when a team’s identity revolves around the attack, a leaky defense often comes part in parcel.
Kompany’s Bayern side has proved that attack isn’t always the best form of defense. However, one doesn’t win trophies just based on the defense, the attack plays a crucial role too. And given the sheer quantity of goals Bayern is scoring, do they even need a defense?
