For the first time in franchise history, the Ravens were set to trade a first-round pick for a veteran player. But Baltimore backed out of the Maxx Crosby deal, returning the No. 14 selection in this year’s draft and their 2027 first-rounder back to Eric DeCosta cache of picks.
The
Ravens’ willingness to move the 14th overall pick – a higher-than-usual slot for them – reflect this year’s relatively weak draft class. There may not be a true top-15 player available when Baltimore is on the clock. So with Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence requesting a trade, should DeCosta make a move? If he does, should the 14th pick be in play – potentially as a ‘Godfather’ offer that can beat other teams who are drafting later in the first round – or is the Pro Bowl nose tackle only worth a package of Day 2 picks?
