Just three days after making his NBA debut with the Washington Wizards, former Maryland basketball star Julian Reese posted an 18-point, 20-rebound double-double in the team’s 122-112 loss to the Utah Jazz.
Reese has started all three games he’s played so far this season for the Wizards, and has tallied at least 28 minutes in each of them. On Thursday, he played a season-high 38. He shot 5-of-7 from the field, notched two assists and nabbed a steal.
Reese’s 20 rebounds are the most by a rookie this
season and the most by a Wizards rookie since 1993. He imposed his will on the offensive and defensive glass with equal efficacy, and snagged a number of his boards with one hand while fending off opposing bigs.
