We are around ninety minutes from kickoff at Raymond James Stadium between the Minnesota Vikings and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and both teams have released their inactive lists for this afternoon’s contest. Let’s take a look at who will be sitting this one out for both sides.
Minnesota Vikings
- QB J.J. McCarthy (emergency QB)
- OT Caleb Tiernan
- S Jakobe Thomas
- S Tavierre Thomas
- P Brett Thorson
- CB Zemaiah Vaughn
- DL Elijah Williams
Linebacker Ivan Pace Jr., who did not travel with the team yesterday due to a personal issue, has made it to Tampa and is active for today’s game. The team elevated Tavierre Thomas from the practice squad and then decided to deactivate
him, so he must have been insurance in the event that Pace wasn’t going to be available. As we’ve said throughout the week, veteran Johnny Hekker will handle the punting and holding duties with Thorson sidelined for this one. And two of the Vikings’ three third-round picks from April’s draft remain inactive, with Tiernan and Jakobe Thomas still waiting to make their NFL debuts.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- OLB Rueben Bain Jr.
- CB Ayden Garnes
- G Luke Haggard
- DL Rakeen Nunez-Roches
- G Billy Schrauth
- LB Josiah Trotter
Bain and Trotter were the Bucs’ first two picks in this past April’s draft, and they’re both out today with injuries. Bain was ruled out on Tampa’s final injury report while Trotter was listed as doubtful, so neither of them comes as a surprise. There were no other Buccaneers players with an injury designation, so no real surprises on the injury report for the home team going into this one.
Those are your inactive lists for today’s Week 3 matchup, folks. We’ll have our Open Thread for today’s game dropping at around 2:30 PM Central, and we hope to see you there!
