On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll is joined by Pride of Detroit’s Editor in Chief, Jeremy Reisman, to discuss the newest Chicago Bears wide receiver, Kalif Raymond. Reisman, who is also on the Detroit Lions beat, did a phenomenal job last year with Taylor’s Ben Johnson episode, so you know he brought the goods again about Raymond!
They talk about what Kalif was like during his time in Detroit, what he’ll bring to Chicago’s offense in addition to his special teams ability. They discuss
his reunion with both Ben Johnson and Antwaan Randle El, as well as his reputation as a hard worker and the leadership he’ll bring to the locker room.
Reisman talked about the immediate impact Raymond made on the coaches when the Lions first picked him up in 2021.
“Khalif was a guy who they kind of viewed as a utility guy, you know, he’s small, he’s fast, which kind of makes you think he’s just a slot receiver, but because he’s so smart, because he’s such a hard worker, they kind of viewed him as a guy they could interchange anywhere,” Reisman said. “When Amon-Ra (St. Brown) started rising to the player that he did, well, then he (Raymond) can play a little bit of X, he can play a little bit of Y, he can play Z, like he can play a little bit of everything, even though he’s certainly not like the prototypical size to play all those positions. He’s capable, he’s smart enough, he understands defenses well enough to play all of those roles, even if they’re not really ideal to his skill set necessarily.”
Give Taylor’s show a listen in either of the embeds below, and give us your thoughts on how you see Raymond fitting in with the Bears.
